Ivan Dubinsky has been working in the lighthouse in Port Hardy, British Columbia for over 20 years. He's responsible for sending weather reports to aircraft and marine vessels. He lives at the lighthouse and is on call 24 hours a day. The ships and planes couldn't operate in the area without the lighthouse assistance so it's very difficult for Ivan to go into town. As a result, he buys his groceries and lottery tickets online and has them delivered. Well one of those tickets hit for a million dollars! Ivan however wasn't able to get another lighthouse keeper to come relieve him.
Dubinsky had to wait two months until he was able to get leave from the lighthouse to come to claim his prize. Now he plans on retiring from lighthouse life and enjoy his time.
