KEMOPALOOZA: Live “Quaranstream” Concerts April 15 and April 17

KEMOPALOOZA, a Prisma Health Midlands Foundation signature fundraising event, was originally scheduled for Thursday, April 30 but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To keep the music and support flowing for CAMP KEMO Programs of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands, KEMOPALOOZA: Live virtual concerts will be held April 15 and April 17 on Facebook Live. Special thanks to Aflac for their presenting sponsorship support.

Two live “quaranstreams” will bring the community together virtually to ease minds and lift spirits. The community is invited to tune in to Prisma Health Midlands Foundation’s Facebook page, turn it up and relax with Jeff Lucero on Wednesday, April 15, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and with Prettier Than Matt on Friday, April 17, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Donations to CAMP KEMO Programs of the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders can be made before, during and after the shows at http://bit.ly/LiveKEMO. Anyone who donates $15 or more will be entered to win a Series 5 Apple Watch. Multiple donations may be made, and the maximum number of chances to win per person is five.

“Music is good for the soul,” said Katie Schanz, chair of KEMOPALOOZA. “KEMOPALOOZA: Live will give us a chance to take a break, hear some great music by local artists and still support kids with cancer and blood disorders at our local children’s hospital. The kids and the hospital team need our support more than ever.”

KEMOPALOOZA: Live will feature Columbia-based musicians. Prettier Than Matt, an acoustic duo, combines the classic country and pop influences of singer/ukulele player, Jessica Skinner, with the arena rock leanings of guitarist/singer, Jeff Pitts. Their music offers rock 'n' roll energy and easygoing acoustic accessibility. Jeff Lucero, an acoustic singer, songwriter and guitarist, showcases a mix of originals and cover songs, ranging from 60s and 70s classics to mainstream rock, grunge, soul, reggae and pop favorites.

Proceeds from KEMOPALOOZA: Live will benefit CAMP KEMO Programs of the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands. Donations for the Apple Watch giveaway may be made through 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. At 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, a random drawing generator will be used to determine the winner of the Apple Watch. The winner will be notified by email shortly after 5 p.m. on April 19.
